How Listings, Badges and Reviews Work

Choosing a pest control business matters. Here is exactly what our badges mean, how reviews are checked and how results are ordered.

What each badge means

Badges only appear when the statement is true for that business. None of them is a government accreditation or a guarantee of work quality.

Verified

Our team confirmed the business's identity and contact details. It is not a licence check.

Claimed listing

The listing is managed by someone we've confirmed is connected to the business.

ABN provided

The business supplied an ABN with a valid format. You can look it up on the ABN Lookup register.

Phone verified

We confirmed the phone number reaches the business.

Website verified

We confirmed the business controls the website it lists.

Featured

A paid placement. Featured businesses can appear higher in results and on featured sections, and are always labelled.

Licences

Pest management technicians must be licensed by their state or territory regulator. Where a business supplies a licence number we show it as supplied. Before booking, ask for the licence number and check it with the regulator where you live.

How reviews work

Reviews are written by people with an account, about their own experience.
Every review is checked by our team before it appears. We remove reviews that are spam, abusive, contain personal information or aren't about a genuine experience.
We don't remove reviews because they are negative, and businesses can't pay to hide them.
Businesses can publicly reply to reviews, and anyone can report a review they think breaks these rules.
Ratings shown are the average of approved reviews only.

How search results are ordered

The default "Recommended" order considers:

How well a business matches your search — the services it offers and the areas it services.
Its rating, adjusted for the number of reviews, so a handful of five-star reviews doesn't outrank a long track record.
Whether it is verified, and how complete its profile is.
Distance, when we know where you're searching from.
Featured status, which is a paid placement and always labelled.

You can change the order to highest rated, most reviewed, closest or recently added at any time.
