Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Pest Control Companies ("we", "us") handles personal information. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

• Account details — your name, email, phone number and password (stored as a secure hash).
• Enquiries — the details you enter when you contact a business, including your contact details, location and description of the problem.
• Reviews — the content, rating and any photos you submit, and the display name shown with them.
• Business listings — the business information owners provide.
• Usage information — pages viewed, searches and clicks, recorded as totals for businesses' statistics. We store a one-way hash of IP addresses to prevent abuse, not the address itself.

How we use it

• To run the directory, your account and your listing.
• To send your enquiry to the business you chose. That business then handles your information under its own privacy obligations.
• To moderate reviews and prevent spam and misuse.
• To send service emails, such as enquiry confirmations and password resets.

Disclosure

We share enquiry details only with the business you contact. We use service providers for hosting and email, who handle information on our behalf. We don't sell personal information.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and protect forms. Your shortlist is stored in your browser. We don't use advertising cookies.

Access, correction and deletion

You can update your details from your account, or ask us to access, correct or delete your information by emailing support@pestcontrolcompanies.com.au.
