About termite inspection
A termite inspection looks for live termites, damage and the conditions that attract them — moisture, timber touching soil, blocked weep holes — so problems are found before they become structural.
How often
Many technicians recommend a timber pest inspection at least once a year, and more often in high-risk areas. Your warranty on an existing termite system may also require regular inspections.
What to expect
An inspection is visual and non-invasive, often supported by moisture meters and thermal cameras. The technician needs safe access to the roof void, subfloor and the outside of the building, and should give you a written report of what they found and could not reach.
